Junior Clinic Program
Premium instruction for beginner to intermediate level juniors!

The 2015 Regular Golf Season Schedule begins April 1st.

Junior Golf Clinics

Beginner to Intermediate Level - Boys and Girls
Class Size 6:1 Student / Instructor Ratio

The Eric MacCluen Golf junior group clinics are designed for juniors ages 7 - 17 with beginner to intermediate skills. Students will have the opportunity to work with teaching professionals in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. Students will always learn and reinforce the fundamentals of golf including grip and posture during every class. However, clinics will now be specialized to cover a particular area of the golf game. Therefore, students will not only learn the basic principles of full swing, putting, chipping, pitching and sand according to the class they choose to attend, they will now be able to continue to refine these different skills with a particular class. Our new power class is specifically designed to increase the power in your swing for not only golf but any sport. EMG instructors will group juniors enrolled in Full Swing classes according to age and ability. These golf classes are a great way to learn a life skill while having fun and making new friends.

Golf Instruction Now Features Specialized Classes on:

  • Full Swing
  • Chipping and Putting
  • Pitching and Sand
  • Power

In addition, students will begin to understand rules, course etiquette, shot making, and scoring strategy. Instruction may also cover: golf terminology and lingo, proper golf attire, equipment, shoes and accessories, golf course maintenance (how to fix divots and ball marks), understand course signage, where to tee up the ball, how to spot balls, how to make a tee time, tend the flag, mark your ball, how to play a scramble, and how to keep score! "Golf is not a once a week sport. Those who truly want to succeed, like in every sport, receive continuous gentle tweaking of their game instead of needing to come in for an overhaul which typically needs to be done when we see those who come just once in a blue moon. After looking back on my history of successful students who have received college scholarships or played professional golf, many of them I saw more than once a week and many of them came numerous times each week. If they traveled in from out of town where frequent visits were not possible there was often a sense of urgency to learn, change and improve. The tendency to default back to old habits will always be there. This holds true whether the student is an adult or a child. Teaming up with the parents to monitor and guide the practice has always been important in the development of a successful golfer. Keeping a constant eye on things can keep the ship sailing in the right direction.

2015 Little Linkster Playdates
Premium instruction for the youngest golfers!

Little Linkster Playdates available May-September of 2015.

Little Linkster Playdates

Beginner Level - Boys and Girls
Class Size may vary from week to week. The more participants, the merrier!

Little Linkster Playdates will focus on the youngsters of our golfers, those who are in pre-school through 6 years of age by August 31, 2014. As the Eric MacCluen Golf logo "Instruction Fore Life" states, our mission is to offer golf instruction to all ages. Most often, if we start kids at a young age in a positive and creative way, we are able to capture their interest and develop their skills so that they will enjoy the game and become golfers for life. The community of Applecross is filled with youngsters who don’t even know they like golf yet. They just need to be exposed to it in a fun way. In this interactive program, children will develop lasting friendships with other youngsters who are learning to play. Applecross is a great facility for your family to play together with multiple putting and hitting areas. We embrace the opportunity to get your family playing with an entertaining and educative program.

Golf Instruction Features:

  • Innovative classes blending skill building, games and prizes
  • Exposure to the four basic shots in a fun and safe environment
  • Etiquette
  • Basic Golf Rules

All instruction is founded in fun and is communicated in a fashion that resonates with children. Having a great time “doing” golf with their friends, peers and, yes, even their parents, sets the Applecross Golf Academy Little Linkster Program apart from most other programs. Little Linkster Playdates are intended for our youngest players to enjoy this baseline approach which works on Grip/Aim/Stance, purposes and uses of various clubs/ shots/ targets, taking care of the course and discovering how learning golf can actually be fun.  With mandatory “Caddy” involvement and occasional access to on-course play with the “Caddy”, these playdates work on the “team” approach in which each player works together with his/her “Caddy” to learn how to get these future champions started in the right direction. No prior golf experience or equipment is required, just a willingness to “catch the golf bug” in a safe, fun, well-supervised environment. Classes are 1 hour in length.

~ Everyone is encouraged to attend "playdates" as often as
possible since repetition is essential for mastering golf skills.

~ We highly encourage girls to participate
in all of our programs!

~ Golf clubs for Little Linkster Playdates are not necessary to participate as they can be fitted properly for US Kids Clubs.
